Sweden Yachts 42 2007

€291,000

General Information

Sweden Yachts 42 – 2007 – PLEIONE – Blue Water Cruiser – 100% “ready to go”
(EU VAT PAID)

The absolute best equipped, upgraded and maintained Sweden Yacht 42 on the market today. Pleione, as she is called today, with production number 44.
Everything you need for real long-distance sailing is here! The current owners have updated the boat for close 50.000 Euro, although she was already in good condition before, when she was sailed both in the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic and for a short time in the Pacific over to New Zealand.
There is no doubt that this is one of the fastest and at the same time most comfortable Blue Water Cruisers. The boat was the fastest boat in 5 of 6 stages at the World ARC which the previous owner completed and then shipped the boat on cargo ships back to Europe. Sweden Yacht is one of the top quality boats built on the Swedish west coast, just like with Hallberg Rassy, Najad, Regina af Vindö, Malö etc. The same extremely high level of quality but with an extra performance. Danes like to compare this to X-Yachts, but with a slightly different layout.

Detailed Specs

When you come down the stairs to the salon, you are immediately greeted by the enormous impression of quality that the well-known Swedish west coast boats express, with robust, almost artistic, top-class mahogany interior mixed with light textiles (new of course), bright ceiling and galley, as well as longitudinal windows and skylights for direct view and beautiful light. The deck/floor in classic teak and with huge storage spaces underneath. Classic mixed with the modern – and nothing has been spared!
On both the starboard and port sides there are double aft cabins with good storage facilities.

In front of the aft cabin on the starboard side is the galley/kitchen with double sink, gas oven and gas stove, large fridge/freezer/box and plenty of cupboard space. Aft of the stove is another large refrigerator (see pictures).
On the other side of the galley on the starboard side is the navigation area with everything needed for instruments, communication and navigation as well as a panel for electrical installations and control of the switch panel.

After the Navigation Area, come various storage cabinets, space for TV and other things before you reach the entrance to the Master/Owners Cabin in the bow. Here there is a double bed on the port side and storage furniture with spacious storage drawers on the starboard side. In the master cabin there is direct access to the bathroom and toilet in the bow of the boat with a large hatch for ventilation from the bathroom and emergency exit. The location of the bathroom is extra smart as you minimize the sound from the anchor box and anchor chain in the master cabin.

The salon on the port side facing the navigation platform consists of a large U-shaped sofa in new beautiful and durable gray-toned textiles and an impressive salon table. It is impressive with the abundant storage spaces everywhere as well as the easily accessible spaces in the floor, which you rarely see in today’s newer boats.

Regardless of whether you are going on a long trip or sailing in closer waters, this is the boat for you and there is room for the whole family to come along. The boat has everything you need and more. This is the version with wing keel, and thus the draft is only 1.85m and therefore allows you to enter the exciting shallower places without losing performance during sailing. The boat is upgraded with STARLINK broadband satellite connection, short wave radio, lots of newer instruments, Lopolight LED lanterns and LED lighting, air conditioning, heater, dual autopilots, Watermaker, 24 volt lithium batteries, solar cells, SuperWind wind generator, Panda generator and dual engine generators, powerful davits and new Great White Aluminum Dinghy with motor, newer sails and also extra sails (including brand new Carbon X-Drive 120% Genoa), saloon cushions reupholstered, new spray hood, hull has just been sanded and CopperCoated (meaning the bottom does not needs to be painted in the next 7-10 years) and to this there are also lots of other upgrades.

This boat is 100% ready for new adventures, long-distance sailing around the world or sailing in closer waters. With investments of over half a million in recent years, this boat is priced for a relatively quick sale.

In the cockpit, everything is optimally placed so that the boat can be easily sailed by one or two people. You can safely sail her from the cockpit without having to go on deck. With 2 electric winches – the best – Andersen winches, as well as a couple of manual ones, the boat is incredibly easy to handle, even for just one person. The high backrests in the cockpit provide comfort and convenience, and under the extra large (and new) sprayhood, you are also fantastically protected from the elements. Cockpit tent is of course in top condition, and Bimini in good condition.

The generator has its place at the back of the hugely deep chest bench, which means that it does not take up space inside the boat or in the engine room. If you need to service this, you can even stand next to the generator down in the starboard stowage compartment

The boat’s history is striking. The first owner bought her and sailed her for holidays and leisure during summer periods in Sweden in the Stockholm Archipelago. Owner number 2, sailed a little further down to the Mediterranean where the boat was then only sailed then only in spring and autumn and was stored there in between covered on land during summer and winter. In the spring of 2014 until January 2018, they sailed seasonally in the Caribbean for 2-3 months at a time and the rest of the time she lay covered on land. In 2018 they sailed through the Panama Canal and took part in the World ARC (a well-known organized event for sailors in different parts of the world – this as part of the circumnavigation). The journey ended in New Zealand, from where the owner had the boat transported on a cargo ship to Germany. At World ARC she won 5 out of 6 division stages in her class. Current owner bought her in 2020 and sailed in Sweden the first year and then a long trip to Southern Europe last year. Now it’s time for the family with new land-based adventures and Pleione is therefore being sold in Lagos, Portugal.

The fact that all previous owners have sailed limited times of the year and have been so careful with her means that the teak deck is almost like new and all surfaces do not bear traces of strong sun and salt as you would otherwise expect. Deck and cockpit teak was even recaulked in 2018/2019 as top of perfect maintenance.
