Looma4Yachts have several years of experience with Yacht Deliveries of yachts on their own keel and have sailed numerous boats in Europe and the Caribbean as skippers and also as crew to help other skippers in our large network in the sailing community. This is perhaps the most commonly considered option for boat transport. To some extent, the larger the boat the more likely the direct costs will favor this solution.
If required, we can also give you recommendations to Transport Companies for transports of boats on land and also Cargo Vessels for transports on a ship by sea if required.

We are always a minimum of 2 experienced crew onboard, one skipper and one crew, and often an extra crew may be added depending on the circumstances and the route.
Below you will find some authentic examples of transport sails to give idea of the time required for boat transports of various distance, much depending on time of year and the weather:
- Gibraltar to Denmark in a 40+ feet sailboat – approx 2-3 weeks depending on weather but can take up to 3-4 weeks.
- Algarve to west coast of Sweden in a 35+ feet sailboat – around 3-4weeks
- Gibraltar to Canary Island – estimated 1 week
- Gibraltar to Mallorca – estimated 3-5 days
- Bermuda to Antigua – estimated 10 days
The terms for deliveries with captain and crew are typically:
Captain and crew will cover as many miles as safely as possible during daylight and night hours. Pauses may occur depending on weather and if a situation is brought up by mechanical problems or lockage delays either upstream or downstream. Captain will decide if marina or anchorage is required, but always aim to have lowest possible commercial impact on the vessels owners budget.
Necessary insurance coverage shall be provided by the owner of the vessel. Coverage shall include public liability and property damage to cover any contingency including but not limited to damage to vessel. It is also understood that the Captain and the crew, mates/engineer or deckhand will not be held responsible for normal wear and tear, acts of war, piracy, government insurgencies or counterinsurgencies, including damage to vessel, crew or passengers caused by faulty navigational equipment, improperly placed or missing navigational aids, uncharted underwater obstructions, or for termination of the voyage caused as a practical matter there from.
The Owner must represent the vessel to be seaworthy and carries all current registration documentation and insurance papers. If upon initial inspection or en route (underway), mechanical, electronic, electrical failure, loss or damage occurs or has occurred to said vessel or it’s equipment which, in the Captains’ judgment, hinders her ability to make or continue a safe voyage, the Owner must correct it, or authorize corrective action, at the Owner’s expense.
Price is depending on type vessel, time of year, area of navigation, requirements for travels etc. You are welcome to contact us for a quote and talk about your needs and the vessel.

Surveys
In our service we can offer contacts with and recommendations of certified survey agents. We recommend to always have a survey made on a boat that your are planning to buy. This will reduce future unpleasant suprises and problems and contribute to less risk of disputes.
At Looma4Yachts we have a trustful partnership with Sulzer Marine, a certified member of International Institute of Marine Surveying. Should you prefer a surveyor of your own choice, that is of no problem.

Yacht repair and maintenance
If your boat need repairs and maintenance done Looma4Yachts highly recommends the Slick Hull Algarve Yacht Services.
Slickhull is a yacht repair and marine engineering company based in Portimão and operating mainly in the Lagos, Villamora, Albuferia and Faro marinas but can undertake yacht maintenance, repairs and installation projects along the whole Algarve coast from Lagos to V.Real de Santo Antonio. Slick hull Algarve Yacht Services specialise in Yacht refurbishment, maintenance, fiber glass and painting. Slickhull are applicators and retail distributors for CopperCoat in Portugal and the largest CopperCoat stockholder in Portugal.
And when you need help, maybe being on a distance from your boat, Looma4Yachts is happy to offer you our boat handling services like moving of the boat for example to the yard for a scheduled boatservice and we can monitor and report the process of the work and more. Always there for you!
Buyers and sellers representative
We can also offer to be your trusted representative in situations where you do not have the possibility to be present yourself. This can for exemple be as the buyers representative at surveys of boats, meetings with sellers representatives, project management and addition of boat works and maintence ordered by the seller or the buyer, visual first impression inspections of an object (boat) for sale when located in Portugal or Spain. We can be your eyes and document an over all impression of a boat that you are interested in and point out critical parts that needs a more thorough and professional point of view and/or an inspection. A visual first impression inspection of boats for sale in other locations than Spain and Portugal are always open for discussion.
Boat handling
We are based in Lagos and close to Lagos and Portimão marinas on the Algarve coast in Portugal. Many sailors on their way to or from the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and crossing the Atlantic ocean leave their boats here for the winter or when they need to take a brake for various reasons. We can take good care of your boat and make sure that it is safe when you are away. We do regular check-ups of the boat, extra checks of the lines before and after predicted bad weather, regular cleaning of the deck and outside areas, change of humidity bags inside, start the motor on regular basis, monitor the charging of batteries, moving of the boat fx to the nearby warf for scheduled boat service and technical jobs are to be done and much more.
We will be happy to make a package for your specific needs and preferences wether it is when looking for and buying a new boat or in need of our other services. Nothing will make us happier than a satisfied customer and guiding our customers to the boat of their dreams!
