Detailed Specs

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 52.2 – 2001 EU VAT PAID status

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 52.2 – 2001 – Fully equipped, Copper Coat treated and almost Ready-to-go for longer passage Sailing, and very comfortable live aboard. Multiple upgrades over the years.

A very well configured, maintained and upgraded Jeanneau 52.2 – 2001.

Extremely smooth sailing and very stylish family cruiser upgraded for longer passage sailing and convenient live aboard with 3 cabins and 4 bathrooms from one of the world’s largest sailboat manufacturers Jeanneau. 2 owners and never used for charter. Since start of the Corona pandemic, she has been very little used and been kept on the wharf on the hard in Portimao, Portugal.

When you step onto the boat you are met with a large and perfectly designed cockpit, that must be one of the largest cockpits in the class, with a huge sprayhood, twin wheels, excellent cockpit ergonomics, Electric Winch on rooftop and a simplified deck layout, making handling of the very large sail plan easy, even directly from cockpit. Teak deck is original from 2001.

Moving down and into the boat, the first you see is the huge salon, which gives an exclusive feel throughout. Maritime elegance at its best! There is a large sofa area with space for easily 6-8 people around the table. This area even designed so that Sofas and table can be converted into a massive large extra double bed. The high quality blue sofa fabric is in great condition and sofas gives this top quality feeling you want, living aboard as well as good storage areas.

On starboard side in front of Chart Table and behind the forward cabin, you find the Kitchen/Galley in a large U-shape, just as you want it, out at sea and even big enough for two people working there at the same time. All is well utilized and has plenty of nice cabinet space, double fridges (or fridge + freezer) , double Bowl Sinks (one can be covered by Cutterboard), Microwave, large 4-burner Stove, Oven and everything else you would expect in a super functional Kitchen including all necessary Kitchenware.

The chart table, or rather the chart office, is entirely unique and a study in style when comes to smart and creative solutions. The rounded navigation chair is perfect for both longer cruises and everyday use. All you need in terms of navigation and communication is here such as VHF, large plotter / radar, AIS etc.

The Master cabin at the forward part of the boat, used to be two cabins, but changed into one huge double Master cabin that has a huge double bed, well organized storage and wardrobes, and two separate toilet/showers.

In the aft, there are two double cabins. Both cabins have has direct access to their own toilet and shower. Together with the forward cabin, this really makes the perfect holiday boat or blue water cruiser for families who appreciate plenty of space and convenient living.

The powerful 100 HP engine is a turbo-charged Yanmar 4JH3-HTE with a fixed 3-blade propeller. Engine has been maintained with regular service by both the owner and professional services, have done appr 3800 hours and in great condition. Among other you find double fuel prefilters.

The boat is also equipped with Eberspächer Aitronic D5 heater with isolated heat pipes (2011), a life raft (need service), bow thruster, isolation transformers etc etc ..

For extra charging the owner invested in the Efoy Fuel cell (Comfort 210), making extra charging of batteries convenient any time of day or night, as long as Fuel exist (widely supplied world-wide at selected distributors or by online orders)

Dinghy with a 5Hp Yamaha are some of the extra investments that the owner made to make cruising life as comfortable as possible.

The Yacht had two owners including the current owner who bought her in the summer of 2006 in Italy. First owner had her for some years for local vacation cruising in the Med.

The current owner bought the boat summer of 2006. First year, they sailed locally in the Med but then sailed back to their homeland Sweden in 2007. From 2007 to 2010 they sailed in Sweden vacation time and mainly during the short Swedish summer. 2011 they sailed south, towards southern Europe. The plan was to sail in Greece but they grew so found of Portugal that they stayed there, and sailed mainly locally in Portugal and the Spanish coast. The boat has therefore done several longer trips over the Biscay and along the Atlantic coast which is the reason for so many upgrades over time, but since then, mainly done shorter trips.

2013/2014 most electronics were updated and renewed to, at the time , latest version of Raymarine and a forward looking 2D Sonar.
2015 the hull was completely refreshed and Copper coat treated (mean that you will not have to paint hull for 7-10 years).
2016 both Mast, Rigging and Boom was replaced due to a discovery of a minor crack in the mast.
2016: Major electronics upgrade: Updated Autopilot Smart Pilot X30 and a new RD418D Raymarine Radar, new large Plotters to Raymarine C90W and C120W as well as AIS. New VHF and other.

After 2016 the owner sailed only around 500nm, due to different private circumstances and from 2018 they almost not used the boat. She has most of the time been on the hard in Portimão due to the problems accessing and travelling during the Corona Pandemic.

Most Thru Hull and Valves been changed over the years , but no record of which and when. All sails well maintained and in good conditions.

She is currently on the hard and will need a little but rather simple work before launch. It is recommended to change the Cutlass bearing and a few other details, but can be part of a deal with seller and can be done at the wharf she is now.

The current owners fulfilled their life dream to have her as a second home in Southern Europe for several years as well as exploring Europe’s coastal waters and cultures. However, after the Corona Pandemic they realized that they have done what they wanted, and now is time for new adventures and life.

Sybillae is currently on the hard in Portimão on the Algarve in Portugal. A fantastic area for year around sailing and a great place as start for even exploring the Canary Islands, The Mediterranean, or if a new owner would like to bring her north.

Arrangements for transport sail of the vessel to other destinations can be arranged as a separate arrangement by broker.

The boat is registered in the Swedish Maritime Registry/ Transportstyrelsen.
